Reacting To Recreational Worship (Part 2)
Topic: worship Verse: Ecclesiastes 5:2–5:7
Pastor Art Azurdia preaching part 14 of the series, "In Search Of Meaning" from Ecclesiastes 5:2-7.
In this sermon titled, "Reacting To Recreational Worship (Part 2)", we finish looking into Solomon's critique of reverence that is conspicuously absent from the worship of so many of the covenant people. What must a God-fearer realize when entering into corporate worship? In this text we learn that brevity in prayer is better than verbal extravagance and faithfulness to promises is better than lame excuses. When a believer has a proper fear of God and guards their steps in God's presence they will practice verbal modesty in prayer and not make a vow to God they cannot fulfill. When you stand in awe of God you will not speak carelessly to God, every word will be measured. The full adoration of our spirit and the true obedience of our heart are God's demands and delights. We can be very thankful that all of our worship not fulfilled can and will be restored and forgiven through Jesus Christ.
