Reacting To Recreational Worship (Part 1)

January 17, 2016 Speaker: Art Azurdia Series: In Search Of Meaning

Topic: worship Verse: Ecclesiastes 5:1, Ecclesiastes 5:7

Pastor Art Azurdia preaching part 13 of the series, "In Search Of Meaning" from Ecclesiastes 5:1.

In this sermon titled, "Reacting To Recreational Worship (Part 1)", we begin looking into the parallels of the corporate worship in our churches and the irreverent worship observed by Solomon and written about in this fifth chapter of Ecclesiastes. Solomon writes this as an observant critic who has seen that reverence is conspicuously absent from the worship of so many of the covenant people. What must a God-fearer realize when entering into corporate worship? Listening to God is better than empty ritual done in the wrong way and regarded by God as evil. Let us approach our worship of God with awe and reverence. Let us also give thanks for Jesus Christ, our Savior, because part of what it means to be a Christian is that our imperfect worship is accepted by the Father because of the perfect worship offered by the Son.
