A Pastoral Exhortation Regarding Our Congregational Obligation

January 10, 2016 Speaker: Art Azurdia Series: Special Services

Topic: Church Verse: 1 Corinthians 12:1–12:26

Pastor Art Azurdia preaching the first sermon of 2016, pastoral exhortations for the congregation of Trinity Church.

As the bearer of our sin it was Jesus' experience of excruciating loneliness on the cross that served to effect our eternal existence in community. We must remember that Jesus didn't just die for people, rather he died for a people--with his own blood he bought the church. The church, like a human body is distinguished by an amazing unity and diversity. Also, the church, like a human body is distinguished by parts that are indispensable to the whole. We may celebrate diversity, but only in relationship to the unified whole. Christianity is more than just a mystical attachment to the church, it is a living and vibrant association with a church.
