The Fall...For All...To See (Part 3)
Topic: Covetousness Verse: Ecclesiastes 4:1–4:6
Pastor Art Azurdia preaching the tenth part of the series, "In Search Of Meaning" from Ecclesiastes 4:1-6.
In this text and sermon we get the third and fourth answers to the question we've been answering these past two weeks. "What are the signs that conspicuously reveal the nature of fallen human culture?" The next signs of the fallen culture on display for all to see are the desperation of oppression and the emptiness of covetousness. So long as we live in this fallen world, "under the sun," we will never be able to rid our culture of oppression. Due to our sin we must guard against a restless nature to equal and outclass other people. Let us adopt God's perspective, less is more--choosing to have one hand extended full with tranquility, because modest demand brings internal tranquility. Jesus allowed Himself to be oppressed with no one to comfort Him, so that we might be set free from the sin of exploitation--to redeem us from our envy and ambition. In getting, Jesus we will have everything that we really need, all that cannot be obtained chasing after the wind with both hands.
