The Lord Of Time
Topic: Sovereignty Verse: Ecclesiastes 3:1–3:15
Pastor Art Azurdia preaching part seven of the series, "In Search Of Meaning" from Ecclesiastes 3:1-15.
This text states at the start that "there is a time for everything, a time for every activity under the heavens." This is really an unashamed declaration of sovereign providence. God has made everything beautiful (or appropriate) in its time. This means God is the Lord of time, regulating our minutes, seconds, years, and days--nothing happens apart from His immediate superintendence. However, we often don't know what God is doing when we oscillate between appointments that disquiet us, delight us and back again. Sometimes it has to be enough for us to know that God knows, when we cannot. The best way for us to navigate life in light of God's sovereign determinations we can't understand is to recognize our profound limitations in the light of God's comprehensive sovereignty. Ultimately, we can trust God because in the fullness of time Jesus came to fulfill God's plan of salvation.
