When All You've Ever Wanted Isn't Enough

October 4, 2015 Speaker: Art Azurdia Series: In Search Of Meaning

Topic: Hedonism Verse: Ecclesiastes 2:1–2:11

Pastor Art Azurdia preaching part four of the series, "In Search Of Meaning" from Ecclesiastes 2:1-11.

Solomon continues giving us details related to what happens when a person seeks to find meaning apart from God. This time he gives the evaluation of his unleashed pursuit of pleasure--pure hedonism. Solomon relates his experimentation with hedonism, the account of a pleasure seeker who can never be a pleasure keeper. We would do well to learn from the scars of a man who thought he knew better than God. You will never know ultimate satisfaction if you seek it in any penultimate pleasure. You will never know ultimate satisfaction in any pursuit of pleasure, if it is in anything less than the living God Himself. The pleasure that God gives is living water, where you will find eternal pleasures, this can only be found in Jesus Christ. When you drink from the fountain of the gospel, Jesus will quench your thirst in a way nothing else and no one else can.
